PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which can efficiently recover a deodorizing function of a deodorizing part without obstructing deodorization when it is highly possible that a user exists in a room.SOLUTION: An air cleaner includes: a case which has air inlets and an air outlet opening toward the outside and a ventilation flue connecting the air inlets and the air outlet air blowing means which is provided inside the case and introduces indoor air into the ventilation flue a deodorizing element which is provide in the ventilation flue so as to allow air to pass therethrough and is formed so that its deodorizing function can be recovered by heating a heater which heats the deodorizing element illuminance detecting means which detects brightness and darkness in a room and control means which applies current to the heater in the case of determining, based on a detection signal from the illuminance detecting means, that it is dark in the room, at the time when the operation time of the air blowing means exceeds the predetermined accumulated operation time.
