Provided are a processor device and a method for operating the same which enable variations in color tone in an image to be made inconspicuous using a process with little waste, an endoscope system, and an image display device, and a method and program for operating the same, capable of displaying an image in which variations in color tone are inconspicuous.A processor device (12) is provided with: an image acquiring unit (90) which acquires a still image of an observation target； an embedding unit (93) which embeds in the still image a correction profile created by a creating unit (92) in accordance with color tone variation related information related to variations in the color tone of the still image； and an output unit (94) which outputs the still image with the correction profile embedded therein to the outside. An image display device (37) receives the still image with the correction profile embedded therein, and subjects the still image to correction using the correction profile.
