PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioactive substance utilizing an active ingredient of Polygonum tinctorium, and a method for producing the bioactive substance.
SOLUTION: The bioactive substance includes water-soluble components of one or both of a stem part and a root part of the Polygonum tinctorium, preferably the water-soluble components of the stem part. The bioactive substance can be obtained by the production method including soaking one or both of the stem part and the root part of the Polygonum tinctorium in water to extract the soluble components, and collecting the components.
