To provide a wheelchair that can easily be operated with either the right or left hand.SOLUTION: The wheelchair comprises: left and right handrims； and rotary shafts that transmit the rotational power generated by rotating the handrim on one side to the wheel on the opposite side by way of a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes horizontally slidable movable discs that are attached concentric with the center of the wheel axle, and force application devices that transmit outward movement of the handrims to the movable discs.
