A mount for a reach arm mower comprising: a tractor mounting support 1 a mount 3 for a reach arm that is secured to the support 1 by via a pivotable connection 17 whose axis extends from the plane of support 1 an extendable ram 23 that is pivotably mounted to the mount 3 and to the support 1, where extension and retraction of the ram 23 results in corresponding pivoting of mount 3 about the axis of pivotable connection 17 relative to the support 1 a tilt sensor secured to the mount 3 for determining tilting of mount 3 and a controller configured to extend and or retract ram 23 in dependence upon tilting of the sensor in order to maintain a predetermined orientation of the mount 3. Support 1 may be in the form of a three-point linkage frame. The tilt sensor may provide an output that is proportional to its inclination. The tilt sensor may provide a constant predetermined signal in the event of tilting, where the tilt sensor is in the form of a pendulum switch. A tank 25 for hydraulic oil may be provided on the mount 3 or the support 1.
