PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and method for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) therapy and regulation of virus replication.SOLUTION: The present invention is based on in vivo validation that RSV is inhibited by intranasal administration of an iRNA agent and parenteral administration of the same iRNA agent. Further, it is shown that one or more viruses can be simultaneously treated to achieve effective reduction of virus. Based on such a finding, the present invention provides a general and special composition and method useful for reducing RSVmRNA level, RSV protein level and viral titer in a subject, for example, a mammal like a human. These findings may be applied to other respiratory system viruses.【課題】呼吸器合胞体ウイルス（ＲＳＶ）療法並びにウイルス複製を調節する組成物及び方法を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明は、ＲＳＶがｉＲＮＡ剤の鼻腔内投与及び同ｉＲＮＡ剤の非経口投与により阻害されるインビボの検証に基づいている。更に、１つ以上のウイルスを同時に治療して効果的なウイルスの低減が達成できることも示されている。そのような知見に基づいて、本発明は、対象、例えばヒトのような哺乳動物におけるＲＳＶｍＲＮＡレベル、ＲＳＶタンパク質レベル及びウイルス価を低減するのに有用な一般的かつ特殊な組成物及び方法を提供する。これらの知見はその他の呼吸器系ウイルスにも適用され得る。【選択図】図１
