PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package housing for long and slender articles.SOLUTION: A package housing includes a base member (2) with a housing wall (6) forming a container (4) for a long and slender article (8), wherein the container (4) has a longitudinal axis (L) extending in a substantial co-axial relation with a longitudinal axis of the packaged article (8). The base member (2) has a head (10) and a holder (12) arranged near the head (10) in a direction of the longitudinal axis (L), the holder (12) is connected to the head (10) at a weakened zone (30) and has at least one holding means (34) for holding the article (8) at the holder (12). The weakened zone (30) is a predetermined breakage point (32).
