A graft attachment device (100) includes a platform member (200), a ratchet mechanism, and a graft connecting element (206). The ratchet mechanism includes a rack member (204) and a pawl member (202) coupled to the rack member. The rack member has a first end, a second end, and teeth (214) between the first end and the second end. The platform member is coupled to the first end. The pawl member is configured to engage with the teeth of the rack member such that movement of the pawl with respect to the rack member and the platform member is free in a first direction towards the first end of the rack member while being limited in a second direction towards the second end of the rack member. The graft connecting element is coupled to the pawl member and configured for attachment to a graft.
