An inhaler comprising a housing defining a chamber for receiving a strip having a plurality of blisters, each of which contains a dose of medication for inhalation by the user, a drive lever and a blister strip drive element mounted to rotate in the chamber for sequentially moving each blister to the opening position of the blister in which the blister strip drive element and the drive arm comprise a drive gear and a drive gear element, respectively, which cooperate to rotate that the blister strip drive member in response to rotation of the drive arm, wherein the driving gear and a drive gear member positioned outside the housing and removed from kamery.2. The inhaler according to claim 1, containing a mouthpiece through which a dose of the medication can be inhaled, and a lid pivotally mounted on the housing to close the mouthpiece. 3. The inhaler according to claim 2, wherein the drive gear and the drive gear element are located between the housing and the cover in such a way as to be covered by this cover. The inhaler according to claim 3, in which the housing has opposite surfaces of the side walls, and the cap has portions that extend across the respective surfaces of the side walls, while the drive gear and the drive gear element are located between one of these surfaces of the side walls and one of the cover portions. 5. The inhaler according to claim 4, wherein the drive gear of the blister strip drive element comprises a shaft that extends through a hole in a side wall of the housing for connecting to a blister strip drive wheel.
