A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a polymeric dispersant, a rheology modifier, and a surface tension modifier, wherein the surface tension modifier is selected from the group consisting of C1-C16 alcohols, C5 - C18 diols, and mixtures thereof. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The rheology modifier can be selected from the group consisting of alkali swellable emulsion polymers, hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsion polymers, and combinations thereof.
