Oral compositions comprising an association of one or of a mixture ofphytoestrogens, selective for the estrogenreceptor-.beta., with dietary fibres are described. The compositions thereofcan be profitably used for the prophylactic and therapeutictreatment in mammals, including humans, of health conditions characterised bya high risk of onset and recurrence of intestinaladenomas (adenopolyposis coli), and of adenoma's progression to colorectalcarcinoma. In presence of pre-cancerous lesions inthe colon, characterised by mutations of the APC tumor suppressor and definedas polyps or adenomas, the oral compositionsdisclosed can be in fact profitably used to reduce the number and volume ofpolyps, and to prevent their progression to neoplastictransformation, reducing their degree of dysplasia.
