The present invention relates to methods of determining if a subject has an increased risk of developing venous thromboembolism (VTE) prior to the onset of any detectable symptoms thereof. The methods comprise analyzing at least one sample from the subject to determine a value of the subjects risk profile and comparing the value of the subjects risk profile with the value of a normal risk profile. A change in the value of the subjects risk profile, over or under normal values is indicative that the subject has an increased risk of having or developing symptoms associated with VTE prior to the onset of any detectable symptoms thereof.La présente invention concerne des méthodes permettant de déterminer si un sujet présente un risque accru de développer une thrombo-embolie aiguë (VTE) avant lapparition de quelconques symptômes détectables de celle-ci. Ces méthodes comprennent lanalyse dau moins un échantillon du sujet pour déterminer une valeur du profil de risque du sujet, et la comparaison de la valeur du profil de risque du sujet à la valeur dun profil de risque normal.
