The invention addresses the problem of providing a system which enables a medically reliable and sound, but at the same time simple and cost-effective determination of vital parameters. For this purpose, the invention proposes a system comprising at least: - a light measuring unit (100) having at least one light source (102) which illuminates a tissue region of the object, at least one light sensor (103) which detects the light scattered at the tissue and/or reflected from the latter, an analog/digital converter (108), which converts the analog signal of the light sensor (103) into a digital signal, wherein the analog/digital converter (108) samples the analog signal at a sampling rate of at least 1000 Hz, preferably at least 5000 Hz, particularly preferably at least 20000 Hz, and an energy supply unit (110), which supplies the light source (102), the light sensor (103) and the analog/digital converter (108) with energy, and - a computing unit (116), designed for processing and/or evaluating the digital signal. In addition, the invention relates to a light measuring unit for such a system.
