PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trimmer in which a distance between a cover and a blade surface is changeable without changing the cover.SOLUTION: A prime mover, such as an engine and a motor, and a cam mechanism are built in a body 1. The cam mechanism allows an upper blade 2 and a lower blade 3 to reciprocally move forward and backward in a phase different by 180°, which enables a trimming work of objects such as twigs and leaves. A cover 5 is freely detachably installed at a blade guide 4.
