Surgical instruments are disclosed which comprise an improved staple firing and/or tissue cutting member. Such a surgical instrument comprises a first jaw comprising a distal jaw end； a second jaw movable relative to said first jaw to capture the tissue of a patient between said first jaw and said second jaw； and a cutting member (2550) movable toward said distal jaw end during a cutting stroke, wherein said cutting member (2550) comprises: a coupling portion (2551) comprising a first cam (2552) configured to engage said first jaw and a second cam (2553) configured to engage said second jaw during said cutting stroke； and a bar (2554) comprising a plurality of layers attached to said coupling portion (2551), wherein said bar (2554) comprises a cutting edge configured to cut the patient tissue during said cutting stroke.
