<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide royal jelly-containing gene expression inhibitors and gene expression promoters； and to provide a method of detecting them. <；P>；SOLUTION: Gene expression inhibitors containing royal jelly or its fraction have an effect of inhibiting expression of genes containing at least one base sequence selected from SEQ ID Nos. 1 to 5, and gene expression promoters containing royal jelly or its fraction have an effect of promoting expression of genes containing at least one base sequence selected from SEQ ID Nos. 6 to 13.
