 A catheter pump assembly includes an elongate polymeric catheter body 304, a cannula 308 with a tubular portion 316 and an expandable portion, and a tubular interface coupling, or ferrule connector 336, having an outer surface configured to be joined to the tubular portion of the cannula and an inner surface disposed over an end of the catheter body. The tubular interface may have a plurality of transverse channels (344, Fig 13) extending outward from the inner surface of the tubular interface with an outer surface of the catheter body projecting into the transverse channels to form a secure mechanical join between the two. Additional recesses, such as a helical groove on the connector, may receive an adhesive sealant to seal between the connector and the tubular portion of the cannula.
