PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dosage regimen for diaryl sulfide derivatives or agonists useful as immunosuppressive or immunomodulating agents.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical for treatment of autoimmune disease symptoms comprises a compound represented by the formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The pharmaceutical is administered at a dosage lower than a standard daily dosage of the pharmaceutical during an initial period of the treatment and then the dosage is increased, optionally stepwise, up to the standard daily dosage of the pharmaceutical.
