A functional end effector (20) manipulates tissue in a surgical site. The effector is designed as a gripper, scissors and a stapler with or without integrated mono or bipolar electrocautery. A suction apparatus (22) is arranged at a distal end to suck the liquid and the replaced tissue from the site. The nozzle and the apparatus are arranged coaxial to each other and rotationally symmetrically formed such that a joint (16) e.g. ball-and-socket joint, has a degree of freedom, where the nozzle is secured through joint.
