The present invention relates to a device for diagnosing a pulse wave, which vertically presses a radial artery for measuring the pulse wave, and a method thereof. The method for diagnosing a pulse wave includes an initialization step, a pulse position indication step, a pressure direction search and control step, and a pressing and maximum pulse wave searching step. In the pressure direction search and control step, the algorithm of a tilt sensor to which Equation (1) is applied and a controller to which Equation (2) is applied is characterized.
