PURPOSE: A peptide ion complex and a method for preparing the same are provided to continuously release peptides from a formulation.CONSTITUTION: A peptide formulation contains an ion complex of peptides and cation compounds for stabilizing peptide drugs prepared using polylactide or polylactide-co-glycolide. The peptide drug is stabilized by reducing yield of acylated peptide. The peptide includes octreotide, vapreotide, lanreotide, salmon calcitonin, human calcitonin, human parathyroid hormone, growth hormone-releasing factor, growth hormone-releasing peptide, glucagon-like peptide 1, exendin-4, or peptide YY.
