PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of enhancing the engraftment procedure of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC).SOLUTION: A composition contains a population of hematopoietic stem and/or progenitor cells, a compound having PGEactivity, and a viral vector. A compound having PGEactivity is selected from the group consisting of an E series prostaglandin, and dimethyl-derivatives of E series prostaglandins. The compound having PGEactivity is selected from the group consisting of PGEand 16,16-dimethyl PGE2. A source of cells is cord blood, bone marrow, or mobilized peripheral blood. The hematopoietic stem and/or progenitor cells are CD34+.
