The present invention relates to an adjuvant composition comprising pullulan as an active ingredient and to a vaccine composition comprising the adjuvant composition and a target antigen as active ingredients, and specifically, the pullulan induces the maturation of dendritic cells in the spleen and lymph nodes, increases immune response and the CTL activity of Th1 cell mediated by mature dendritic cells, and when pullulans and target antigens are treated together, antigen-specific immune responses can be induced to prevent or treat cancer as well as to inhibit cancer recurrence or metastasis.본 발명은 풀룰란(pullulan)을 유효성분으로 포함하는 애쥬번트(adjuvant) 조성물 및 상기 애쥬번트 조성물과 표적 항원을 유효성분으로 포함하는 백신 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 상기 풀룰란은 비장 및 림프절에서의 수지상세포의 성숙을 유도하고, 성숙된 수지상세포에 의하여 Th1 세포 중재의 면역반응 및 CTL 활성을 증가시키며, 풀룰란 및 표적 항원을 함께 처리하는 경우 항원-특이적인 면역반응을 유도하여 암의 예방 또는 치료뿐만 아니라 암의 재발 또는 전이를 억제하는데 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
