The ion-exchange material is provided at a position that allows the pharmaceutically-acceptable solution to contact the pharmaceutically-acceptable solution as it is ejected from the barrel through the outlet. Ion exchange materials are more physiological to help relieve the discomfort and/or pain experienced during injection, from a given non-physiological pH of a pharmaceutically acceptable solution that allows storage to ensure an acceptable shelf life.
