Each jaw member (12, 14) including a pair of spaced apart, electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces (30a, 30b, 32a, 32b) adapted to connect to a source of electrosurgical energy such that the tissue sealing surfaces (30a, 30b, 32a, 32b) are capable of conducting electrosurgical energy through tissue held therebetween to effect a seal. At least one of the first and second jaw members (12, 14) includes an electrically conductive cutting element (34) disposed thereon. The electrosurgical forceps (2) further comprises a handle (6) assembly including a movable handle (24) configured to move the at least one movable jaw member (12, 14) from the first position to the second position. A first switch assembly (756a) operably disposed on the housing (4) includes an activation member (38) in operable communication with the source of electrosurgical energy for providing electrosurgical energy to the tissue sealing surfaces (30a, 30b, 32a, 32b) for sealing tissue. The electrosurgical forceps (2) further comprises a second switch assembly (756b) in operable communication with the source of electrosurgical energy for providing electrosurgical energy to the cutting element (34) for cutting the sealed tissue.
