Disclosed are an ultrasound system and a method for providing the depth information of a region of interest. An ultrasound system according to the present invention includes a user input part which operates in order to receive input information for setting a region of interest in an ultrasound image from a user； and a processor which forms the ultrasound image including pixels by using ultrasound data corresponding to a body, sets the region of interest in the ultrasound image based on the input information, detects a pixel corresponding to the interest region in the pixels, and operates to form calculate the depth of the region of interest with regard to the ultrasound image by using the detected pixel.
