The sprinkler head (10) includes an arc s adjustment valve (14) having two portions that helically engage each other to define an opening that may be adjusted at the top of the sprinkler (10) to a desired arcuate length. The arcuate length may be adjusted by pressing down and rotating a deflector (22) to directly actuate the valve (14) without the need for a hand tool. A method of irrigation is also provided involving moving the deflector (22) between an arc adjustment position and io an operational, irrigation position. The sprinkler head (10) may also include a flow rate adjustment valve (125) that may be adjusted by actuation or rotation of an outer wall portion (140) of the sprinkler (10).
