Topical compositions that may be useful for treating subjects with localinflammatory disorders such aspseudofolliculitis barbae, dermatitis, psoriasis, wounds, or sunburn areprovided. Previously-knowntreatments have limited efficacy or require steroids that can causeundesirable side effects. AlthoughNSAIDs have a safer profile, they are practically water insoluble and thus aretypically formulated withalkanols or at low concentrations or both. The instant compositions taughthere may be able tosolubilize high concentrations of NSAIDs without high concentrations ofalkanol and can contain water.Accordingly, such compositions may be capable of delivering therapeutic levelsof an NSAID to targets inthe skin.
