PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image managing system easily registering, updating, and managing medical image data acquired by an electronic endoscope.
SOLUTION: The medical image managing system communicating through a network comprises an electronic endoscope apparatus, an image managing server, and a patient information server. The electronic endoscope apparatus includes: the electronic endoscope to photograph an image of an inside of a patients body and to generate an image signal a first compression means to compress the image signal and to generate image data and a transmission means to transmit the image data to the image managing server. The image managing server includes: a patient information requesting means to request the patient information server of patient information a receiving means to receive the patient information from the patient information server a database to correlate the image data transmitted from the electronic endoscope apparatus with the patient information and to memorize them and a second compression means to compress the patient information and image data memorized in the database at a predetermined timing.
