The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating allergic disease containing a Scirpus planiculmis extract, showing effectiveness in preventing or treating allergic disease associated with type 1 and mast cells including at least one disease selected from the group consisting of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, anaphylaxis, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic non-hemolytic transfusion reactions, and allergies to drugs such as penicillin, ampicillin and insulin.
