The invention proposes an antiseptic composition for use as bone cement, inparticular anantiseptic polymethylmethacrylate bone cement, that can be cured and comprisesa contentof at least one component that is a compound with an oxidising effect or fromwhich a compoundwith an oxidising effect can be released. Preferably, hydrogen peroxide is orcan bereleased. In this context, it is particularly preferred to use an adduct or asalt of hydrogenperoxide that releases hydrogen peroxide in the presence of water or aqueousconditions.The antiseptic polymethylmethacrylate bone cement can be used for mechanicalfixation ofprimary total articular endoprostheses, for mechanical fixation of revisiontotal articular endo-prostheses,and for producing spacers.
