The present invention relates to absorbent articles, such as diapers andsanitary nap-kins, and cores useful for such articles. More specifically, theinvention relates to an absorbent article (20) having a longitudinal axis anda transverse axis, the absorbent article (20) comprising an absorbent core(28), the core (28) comprising a wearer fac-ing side oriented towards a wearerwhen the article (20) is being worn and an opposed garment facing side, thecore (28) further comprising a storage layer (60), the storage layer (60) alsocomprising a wearer facing side and an opposed garment facing side, theabsorbent article (20) further comprising a liquid pervious topsheet (24) onthe wearer facing side of the core (28) and a liquid pervious backsheet (26)on the gar-ment facing side of the core (28), the core (28) further comprisinga first core wrap sheet (56) covering the wearer facing side of the storagelayer (60) and a second core wrap sheet (58) covering the garment facing sideof the storage layer (60) the first core wrap sheet (56) being joined to thesecond core wrap sheet (58) along at least one stripe of juncture whereineither the stripe of juncture extends in the transversal direc-tion and thestripe of juncture provides a bond strength of at least 1 N/cm between thefirst core wrap sheet (56) and a second core wrap sheet (58) as measured astensile strength in the longitudinal direction and comprises a microfiberadhesive or wherein the stripe of juncture extends in the longitudinaldirection and comprises a microfiber adhesive.
