A pet bathing system (10) for use with a surface cleaning apparatus (14) is provided and includes at least a wand override tool (18) to allow for an easy-to-use pet bathing system. The system (10) can be used for the bathing of pets via the application and subsequent extraction of liquid. The wand override tool (18) includes a cleaning solution reservoir (92) and couplers (90) adapted to be coupled with a surface cleaning apparatus (14) having a suction source (214) and a cleaning fluid source (206) and with a hand tool (12).
