The present invention relates to a graphene-based antimicrobial material which is used to coat fibers to sterilize bacteria and improve the sterilization performance by using ultraviolet (UV) rays. Oxidized graphene and derivatives of the same contain a predetermined range of functional groups of active oxygen. The solubility of the oxidized graphene in water is extremely important for biotechnology applications. The maximum solubility of the material depends on both the polarity of the solvent and degree of surface modification. According to a recent report, the oxidized graphene and derivatives of the same have no or limited cytotoxicity and are excellent in promoting cell proliferation in humans or mammals. The graphene-based antimicrobial material has little influence on the body while being extremely sensitive to bacteria. When the graphene-based antimicrobial material is applied to the mask, the polyester or nylon fibers are impregnated in the graphene oxide or titanium oxide by using a binder while using a micro-filter as a cover to prevent powder from entering the mouth.
