An electrode plate comprises a stiff or flexible electrically non-conductiveplate element having a front face and a rear face and a pattern of needle-like(NL) electrodes for electrical stimulation of cutaneous thin A.delta./C fibersand conductive plate (CP) electrodes for electrical stimulation of cutaneouslarge A.beta. fibers disposed on the front face. The front face may beprovided with adhesive for attachment to the skin. Also disclosed is a methodof manufacture of the electrode plate and a method of electrical stimulationof cutaneous fibers by means of the electrode plate and a stimulator connectedto it.
