The invention relates to a method for producing spacers from a bone cementcomprising thefollowing chronological steps:A) controlling the temperature of a casting mould to a first temperatureB) filling a cement dough, which has a temperature that is lower than thetemperature of thetemperature-controlled casting mould, into the temperature-controlled castingmouldC) allowing the cement dough to cure in the casting mould to form a spacerandD) separating the casting mould from the spacer after the spacer is cured.The invention also relates to a device for producing spacers from a bonecement through saidmethod comprising a casting mould and a temperature control facility forcontrolling thetemperature of the casting mould, whereby at least 80% of the inner surface ofthe castingmould comprises a negative image of the spacer surface to be produced.
