The invention relates to improvements to an auxiliary element for the segmental distalization of the canine-to-molar posterior maxillary area in orthodontic treatments. The aforementioned improvements are characterised in that the ball joint of the mesial segment is spherical and comprises two diametrically opposed flat faces in the polar segment position of the sphere and the arm of the mesial segment is connected to the ball joint, thereby forming a small acute angle.
