The present invention relates to an assembly type casket and an assembling method thereof, capable of rapidly and easily assembling without a tool such as a hammer and a nail, and securing stability of coupling. The assembly type casket according to the present invention includes: a body part having a plurality of side plates and a bottom plate for forming a laying space where a dead body is laid； and a fixing part for coupling one plate of the side plate and the bottom plate to another plate making contact with the one plate. The one plate has an insert hole into which the fixing part is inserted, and the another plate has an insert hollow which is positioned at a position corresponding to a position of the insert hole and coupled with the fixing part inserted thereinto. The fixing part is inserted into the insert hole and the insert hollow in a pressing way. At the fixing part, insert latching portions are spaced apart at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the fixing part and slantingly formed, and latched and fixed at an inner surface of the side plate or the bottom plate.
