A medical dispenser 2, comprises an outlet, a plurality of sealed compartments 16 containing medicament to be sequentially aligned with and dispensed through the outlet, and an actuator 12 movable between a first position and a second position where the actuator 12 is associated with means which enables accumulation of mechanical energy. Movement of the actuator 12 from the first position towards the second position causes mechanical energy to be built up in the accumulation means. The arrival of the actuator 12 at the second position causing the built-up mechanical energy to be released and converted into an indexing movement of the compartments 16.
