PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dramatically develop a technique for deciding a physical and mental condition of a subject by observing temporal expansion/contraction of a pupil with respect to stimulating light. SOLUTION: The subject's eyes are irradiated with stimulating light for 0.5 seconds while the pupils of the subject are not in dark adaptation. Then, the pupil of the subject becomes smaller from the size at the time of irradiation of the stimulating light, and then becomes larger. If the pupil of the subject at the time of 5 seconds from the moment of the irradiation of the stimulating light is larger than the size of the pupil at the moment of the irradiation of the stimulating light, the determination system determines that the subject has the sympathetic nerve superior to the parasympathetic nerve. It is determined to be in the state.
