Composition comprising a retinoid, benzoyl peroxide and a pH-independent gelling agent is new. An Independent claim is also included for production of the composition by preparing an aqueous phase comprising water and optionally a chelating agent, penetration enhancer and/or humectant； preparing an active phase comprising the retinoid, benzoyl peroxide and optionally a liquid wetting agent and/or penetration enhancer in water； adding the active phase to the stirred aqueous phase； and adding the gelling agent to the stirred mixture.
