PURPOSE: A method for producing cholera toxin using trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is provided to simply and efficiently produce cholera toxin.CONSTITUTION: A method for increasing the amount of cholera toxin comprises the step of culturing Vibrio cholerae in a medium containing an electron receptor under an anaerobic condition. The vibrio cholerae is O1 serotype which is one of O395, C6706, 569B, and N16961.
