The mill head comprising: a housing or shell separate from the base having first, second and third openings. A cutting device provided with a coupling feature and disposed in said housing or shell, having at least one cutting feature for cutting bone stock introduced into the first opening into bone chips and defining an opening through which the bone chips pass so that the bone chips are discharged through the second opening. The cutting device being moveably disposed in said housing to rotate across a space between the first and second openings, wherein the motor coupling feature is receivable through the third opening to engage the cutting device coupling feature such that when said coupling features are engaged, actuation of said motor results in the rotation of said cutting device in said space. A catch tray is arranged to receive bone chips discharged through the second opening and a locking assembly for releasably holding said housing or shell to said base in a position so that said coupling features can engage.
