PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire which prevents excessive development of prolapse and has high safety.SOLUTION: The medical guide wire 1A includes a core shaft 2, a coil body 3A and a safety wire 5A. The tip 2a of the core shaft 2 is moved apart in the base end direction from the leading end part 4 formed in the coil part 3A, while a first brazing part (connection part) 6 which is connected to the safety wire 5A and the coil body 3A is formed at the tip 2a of the core shaft 2. A function of developing the prolapse easily to prevent blood vessel perforation can be given to the side closer to the tip side than the first brazing part (joint part) 6, while a function of preventing the excessive development of the prolapse can be given to the side closer to the base end side than the first brazing part (joint part) 6 by raising the rigidity of that side more sharply than that of the tip side.【課題】プロラプスの過度の発達を防止し、安全性に優れた医療用ガイドワイヤを提供する。【解決手段】医療用ガイドワイヤ１Ａにおいて、コアシャフト２と、コイル体３Ａと、安全ワイヤ５Ａとを設け、前記コアシャフト２の先端２ａを、コイル体３Ａに形成された最先端部４から基端方向に離間させ、前記コアシャフト２の先端２ａに、前記安全ワイヤ５Ａ及び前記コイル体３Ａに対して接合する第１ロウ付け部（接合部）６を形成した。前記第１ロウ付け部（接合部）６よりも先端側には、プロラプスを容易に発達させて血管穿孔を防止する機能を付与することができ、前記第１ロウ付け部（接合部）６よりも基端側には、前記先端側よりも急峻に剛性を向上させてプロラプスの過度の発達を防止する機能を付与することができる。【選択図】図１
