The first cutting guide surface can include a material that is resorbable so as to be capable of being absorbed into tissue of a human subject of a portion of the material upon intentional or unintentional separation of the portion of the material from the first cutting guide surface. The method can include obtaining or providing a cutting instrument and the cutting guide. The cutting instrument can be guided against a cutting guide surface of the cutting instrument.
