The bulk feed (2) is a mixture of at least two components, wherein the first feed component (21) of the feed mixture (2) is intended for feeding the birds and the second feed component (22) of the feed mixture (2) is intended to feed the animals on the ground beneath the device. The first component (21) is preferably composed of sunflower seeds, the second component (22) is preferably made up of grain maize. By adjusting the volume ratio of the first component (21) in the range from 5% to 50% of the total volume of the feed mixture (2) and by adjusting the cross section of the outlet opening (5) with the adjusting element (6), the desired daily dose ranges from 1 to 3,5 kg and possibly more than 5 kg of the second component (22).
