Described herein is an invention comprising a spreadable conditioning composition comprising a blend of branched hydrocarbons and esters having kinematic viscosity of about 100 centistokes or less. The composition can be natural, for example, if each of the branched hydrocarbons and esters is independently of plant origin. In addition, the composition may not contain components derived from palm oil. In one embodiment, the composition is a blend of esters selected from hydrogenated farnesine and glyceryl triheptanoate, dicapryl succinate, heptyl undecylenate and mixtures thereof. The composition exhibits an average diffusion rate of about 4 to about 8.
