Portal images are combined with 3D ultrasound to determine adjustments topatient treatment parameters. Theimages are acquired while the patient is in an initial position, and theimages are registered to a treatment coordinate system. Theimages are combined and outlines of anatomical structures are superimposed onthe portal images, resulting in new portal imagesthat incorporate the anatomy extracted from the ultrasound. The enhancedportal images are used to identify modifications to thetreatment parameters.
