Latex articles with geometrically defined surface structure providing enhancedgrip characteristics in dry, wet or oily environment； and a method of makingsame comprising applying a polymeric coagulant coating (12) to a smooth formersurface (11), wherein the coating becomes tacky during drying, applyingdiscrete coagulant particles (14) of selected size, shape and distribution tothe tacky coating to attach and protrude from the former surface with thepolymeric coagulant coating, dipping the former into an aqueous latexemulsion, wherein the polymeric coagulant coating the discrete coagulatingparticles destabilize the latex, thereby developing a latex layer, vulcanizingand stripping the latex article inside out, and dissolving the discretecoagulant particles in water or suitable solvents to reveal the geometricallydesigned texture with pre-selected size, shape and distribution of impressionsproviding improved dry, wet and oily surface grip by removal of a fluidboundary layer.
