An optical element is coupled with the LED base support and hasopticalcharacteristics that result in at least 50% of the light produced by the LEDsbeingprojected sideways from the fixture in oppositely directed side zones thatflank a centralzone wherein light is substantially blocked from projecting below the fixture.Agreenhouse is encompassed that may include one or more of the LED lightingfixtures.
